It is WORTH

The partners of the Project know that reaching unexpected results is possible by means of sharing capabilities. That is why four companies decided to collaborate within PRINTODECO Project. Only by means of this collaboration is possible to develop the digital printing applied to melamine boards.

According to this idea, we celebrate the launching of WORTH. This is a Project designed to boost European SMEs. It counts with the support of EASME and COSME Program. It focuses on collaborations between designers, manufacturers and technicians. The objective of that collaboration is to develop innovative products that can reach market successfully.

WORTH will open to public on September the 18th. You can get further information at the website of the project.

In addition to this, we will have the opportunity to get information about the Project on September the 15th. It will be during the Journey on Design and Architecture organised by Cluster da Madeira de Galicia. That date the technical director of PRINTODECO Project will also steer a round table about collaboration between design and industry.

Customization website

The website for design customization was published in august 2017. This milestone has been reached punctually according to PRINTODECO Project work plan. It refers to deliverable D-2.3. The website offers three different tools for design customization:

  • The first one is called «be briant!«and it allows changing hue, saturation and brightness to a large selection of high quality patterns.
  • The second one is «go further!«. It makes possible to blend any colour over many different patterns provided by the website.
  • The last one is «customize!«. It has no limits as it allows to upload images and merge then over exiting patterns.

All the tools provided by the new website run over a list of high quality and large dimensions catalogue of designs. Those images are ready to be customized by the customer who just have to select the colour and tone he likes.

The website also provides a personal area to the customer. By means of this area, the user can design and store his creations. In order to reach the personal area, the customer should log in previously. Therefore, he should just provide an email address and verify not being a robot.

Meeting in Agolada

This year the staff of PRINTODECO Project was present at “Campus dos Oficios”. This is a meeting hold every year in Agolada (Pontevedra), at the same time that a large exhibition of handmade products is hold. “Artesanía de Galicia” boosts both the exhibition and the meeting. This Agency helps Artisans and protects Craftmanship. It is part of the Regional Government

In this occasion, the meeting was focused on wood and its possibilities and it was held on July the 8th. The meeting included a large roundtable. Up to eleven relevant personalities on Craftsmanship, Design, University and Industry where present. The talk last more than three hours. It catched the attention of the public, who made lots of interesting and sometimes even polemic questions.

Seistag shared a book recently published. The text focuses on the natural and positive transition from Craftsmanship to Industry. The speaker of the Company pointed that artisan approach to product design is a valuable reference for industrials. Artisans understand the whole productive process and therefore are able to innovate easily. PRINTODECO Project is a good example of that potential, as it makes possible the designer to innovate in terms of surface design.

Natural Materials

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The latest trends in kitchen design continue to focus on the use of natural materials: imitations of marble, granite, stone and, of course, wood. It gains strength to combine several natural materials to create effects and visual games and to give relief to certain zones, for example effect of wood with effect of stone marble.

Natural materials are not trendy, they never go out of style. Wood, marble, granite, cement or concrete and even oxides are used in Cocinas.com for modern and avant-garde kitchens, as well as classic or rustic kitchens combining colors, woods or even finishes.

Natural wood can become very expensive and may have imperfections that spoil the aesthetics of our kitchen, for this reason within PRINTODECO they have studied the potential of high technology applied to the classic woods allowing manufacturers of kitchen doors to offer finishes of the highest quality with natural wood look without imperfections and with an excellent quality-price ratio.

LOGISIETE offers personality and sophistication, without forgetting the quality of the kitchen.

General Assembly in Santiago

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The four Companies of PRINTODECO Project hold a meeting at TORCULO facilities in Santiago de Compostela on 3rd July. During the meeting, TORCULO presented the updated catalogue of decorative surfaces. This document shows “ready to print” images, but it also makes possible customization to the final customer by means of three new personalization tools.

The Consortium agree to publish those personalization tools in the Internet before the ending of summer 2017. This action follows the compromises of the initial work plan of PRINTODECO Project. SEISTAG presented the technical definition of that new and interactive website by showing a prototype of it. By publishing the tools in the internet, the final customers will be able to define unique products and order production directly to the producer.

During the meeting, LOSAN shared information on the technology readiness of digital printing applied to melamine boards. The Company showed possibilities and limitations of the best available technologies using thermoelectric and piezoelectric inkjet. Finally, LOGISIETE presented a draft of the main lines for market research considering the opportunities relate to digitally printed melamine boards.

Customize!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The new catalogue of PRINTODECO designs is ready. This new edition includes personalization tools. It makes possible matching industrial products with final customer needs and likes. Moreover, it also makes possible to define exclusive designs and give protagonism to the customer who can define the product directly.

By the moment, the customization tools are offered throughout a catalogue. This means that the customer already has the customization possibilities, but using special software and knowledge is needed. Within the next month’s PRINTODECO will offer that support online, by means of a tool that allows direct customization by the final customer.

The personalization possibilities are based on three different tools to be explained in detail within the next weeks. The first one makes possible to adjust existing patterns by changing Hue, Saturation and Brightness. The second allows to combine a catalogue of textures with any colour to produce new surface designs. The third one blends a catalogue prefab images with images uploaded by the final customer.
